Valera was done packing. Officially.
Really,
really finished this time, not like the four times prior when she had forgotten something insignificant but so immensely necessary that she had to return home from various distances away, much to the annoyance of her cab driver.
It had been a while since Valera had taken a vacation, which explained her apparent lack of packing skills. She looked around her room thoughtfully, double-checking, because she was pretty sure the cab driver who was waiting downstairs would kick her in the face if she made him turn back again. Then again, she was paying him for idling outside, so that made her feel a bit better.
And well, she was feeling a little nostalgic already, so she took a few minutes to breathe in the scent of home.
( Miami had changed Valera. )
